Music
Our Aims and Objectives
Our Music curriculum provides a creative, varied and engaging programme of music that inspires pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians. We aim to equip pupils with the knowledge, skills and experience to increase their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. Pupils will learn to perform, listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of musical periods, genres, styles and traditions. They will learn to sing and use their voices to create and compose music on their own and with others. Pupils will understand and explore how music is created, produced and communicated, including through the inter-related dimensions of music: pitch, duration, dynamics, tempo, timbre, texture, structure and appropriate musical notations. Whole-school singing, ensemble playing, experimenting with the creative process and listening to fellow pupils performing will support the development of teamwork and sense of belonging to the school community.
