We're All Mad Here: Using Lucidchart to Understand the Madness of Wonderland| Lucidchart Blog

May I extend a very warm welcome to Lewis Carroll's class page and welcome back to school after what has been a very strange year.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with you and your child this academic year. I am sure that the journey we will make together will be an exciting and rewarding one, packed full of rich learning opportunities and fun! We hope you find the information on this page useful. We look forward to working in partnership with parents and carers this year, and watching your children grow and flourish through their learning experiences.

Parents & Carers

As you are aware, many protocols have changed throughout school, including limited face-to-face contact. Please, please, please do not hesitate to email or phone regarding any worries or queries you have – however big or small. You may not be able to have a ‘quick’ chat on the playground any longer but we are here and will endeavour to keep communication and our partnership between home and school strong. I am also contactable via Twitter (if you have small queries.) I am an avid user of twitter, as I love the parents and carers to see the achievements, experiences and opportunities we have in class. So please follow us for regular updates, reminders and pictures of what your children are working on, and how well they are doing.

Please ensure your child’s book bag, reading record and reading books are in school every day. Children are expected to read regularly, reading will be checked on a weekly basis.

It is imperative that reading is recorded in reading records so that we can celebrate your child's achievements.

Times Tables are an essential part of the children's mathmatics learning. We learn our Times Tables through tricks and strategies, songs, games, chanting and through our fantastic new Times Table app.

In the first week, children will be provided with logins to a fantastic website/app called Timestable Rockstars. Each week you will be set Times Tables to learn and you will go on a variety of games to learn these timetables whilst ranking on a whole class leaderboard! Children are ranked on how much they interact with the game and earn coins to purchase new rockstar outfits! The app is fantastic and I cannot encourage you enough to suppot your child in engaging with this game. We have seen remarkable leaps in the children's Times Table knowledge when they use this along with our Times Table sessions within school.

WH: Autumn has begun… | rainbow-montessori-nursery.co.uk

As I sit here in the Christmas holidays I really reflect on how the children have made such a fantastic start to the school year and it has really been magical to watch the children grow so much is so little time. It really has been the most spectacular jam-packed term. As we came back to school after some time off the children flourished during our recovery work. We used our Christian values to reconnect, recuperate and readjust to school life once again. The children participated in activities to see the postives within each other, they worked as a team, they reflected on their unique gifts and talents and explored the learning pit and how they could build their confidence. They participated in acts of kindness and devleoped a deeper understanding of mindfulness. As we progressed more and more and moved back towards our Curricullum the children shone during our Art Day where they learnt important line drawing skills and produced amazing artwork. They worked with Northwich Town Council to produce the most stunning star lanterns that were displayed in Baron's Quay. In Science, the children exploe classfication and were enthusiastic during our mini beast hunt! In Geography, we learnt about where we live starting globally zooming into Northwich, our town. The children explored human and physical Geography of the UK and through their study of migrating birds they compared this geography with the Geography of Canada. In English the children have possibly amazed us the most, we have explored some brilliant books this year - Light on Cotton Rock, Hello Lighthouse! Rain Before Rainbows. It was clear the children were inspired by this literatture and the work produced has blown me away. In Maths the children have focused on core concepts and skills as well as working on our  timestables. In RE, the children ave developed their ability to consider biblical texts and their meaning. They have learnt about Sikhism and have explord the similarities between this world faith and Christianity. They rose to the challenge of our RE enrichment day based on 'God's Big Story.' In worship we have had time to reflect on how we can make a difference and how we can be a light for others.

Below are just some of the pictures that show the amazing achievements of our children, as well as some from Christmas Week!
